Old 97's played on a boat

Last week, the Old 97's played two shows as part of the Rockin' The River series. It was hot, it was sweaty, but it felt like a 97's show from back in the day, to some degree.
The setting sounded great on paper. See the 97's for their first time in the NYC area in a while. Playing on a Circle Line boat as it cruised around Manhattan, and the Statue of Liberty. The cruise was from 9:30 until 11:30, and the band didn't come on until after 10. Standing there in the heat, waiting for them to come on was pretty annoying. The band did sound really good, and revved up. It was really hard to see them, but I managed to fire off a few good photos.
Despite the problems with the environment, I was glad to see them live again, and I can't wait to see them again in a real venue.
September 17th, they play a free show at the World Financial Center with the Hold Steady, Chavez, and Illinois.
