Wednesday, February 6, 2008 CEO apologizes

For the first time in a long time, the Super Bowl was actually notable for something other than the commercials. The game was actually exciting!
There were a few good ads in the bunch, but the ads were noted for their offensive stereotypes. One used a Chinese accent, the other an Indian accent. The CEO, who happens to have a thick Indian accent himself says “We never thought anyone would be offended,” in an article in today's NY Times.
I was more offended by the fact that the ads completely sucked. I was also offended that a company notorious for spamming, invading privacy, and using nefarious business tactics had made enough money to buy two Super Bowl spots.
Perhaps people would've just forgot about the commercials if they just aired their old commercials, or viewers were just distracted by something else like.....wait what was I talking about....Look! PUPPIES!
