With Morrissey announcing that he will not enter the Eurovision songrwriting contest, a new bright spot has appeared. Justin Hawkins, former lead singer of The Darkness will be vying for the opportunity to be the UK's choice in the contest.Hawkins is attempting to start a solo career, after leaving The Darkness to go into rehab. Admit it, as cheesy as The Darkness may seem on the surface, they kicked ass. They were a satire of a genre, yet possessed some serious chops.
If Justin can come up with anything half as catchy as "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" or "Get Your Hands Off of My Woman" (recently covered by Ben Folds), he is a shoo-in.
